The Protein G Starter Kit uses compact affinity columns packed with immobilized Protein G to facilitate highly efficient, cost effective purification for both monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies

The immobilization of Protein G has been developed for stabilization of the immobilized ligand and elimination of non-specific surface interactions. The protein is packed into columns and immobilized on rigid, durable controlled pore glass. The internal pore size distribution results in uniform rates of diffusion and rapid transfer between solution and solid phase. The orientation and immobilization of the protein molecules on the glass surface creates high binding capacities, especially for immunoglobulins that typically do not bind well to conventional immobilized Protein G. 

Protein G columns can be used for purification of antibodies that cannot be purified on Protein A. Protein G shows much stronger binding to IgG from mouse, rat and goat and also stronger binding to monoclonal antibodies. Protein G binds with high affinity to IgG from human (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3IgG4), cow, goat, horse, mouse (not IgM), pig, rabbit, rat and sheep.

The Protein G Starter Kit contains all components required for antibody purification including columns, buffers, ultrafiltration spin columns and tubes. Two Protein G columns are included in this kit. The columns can be stored and reused many times.
