MFP488-NHS, part of MoBiTec's series of MFP dyes, is a succinimidyl ester fluorescent amine-reactive dye designed to label amines. Succinimidyl esters are proven to be the best reagents for amine modifications because the amide bonds formed are essentially identical to, and as stable as, peptide bonds. These reagents are generally stable if they are properly stored and show good reactivity and selectivity with aliphatic amines. They have very low reactivity with aromatic amines, alcohols, phenols (including tyrosine) and histidine.
MoBiTec’s series of MFP dyes have multiple advantages:
  • More brightness than the commonly used dyes
  • High emission fluorescence due to high quantum yield values
  • High fluorescence intensity resulting from the high extinction coefficients and quantum yields of the dyes
  • High photo-stability provides more time for observation and image capture
  • High water solubility allows for easy protein labeling procedures without the use of organic solvents
  • pH insensitive - remains highly fluorescent over a broad pH range (pH 4 - 9)
  • Compatible with commonly used excitation sources and filter sets

  • MFP488 Exc./em.maximum: 501/523 nm
  • Amide bonds formed essentially identical to, and as stable as, peptide bonds
  • Shows good reactivity and selectivity with aliphatic amines
  • MFP488 is compatible with green emitting fluorophores such as Cy2 and fluorescein

  • Peptide/protein labeling
