AdenoBlast is ideal for enhancing adenoviral infection and transduction in any type of cell (adherent, suspension, primary or cell lines). The use of adenoviral transduction requires the Coxsackie Adenovirus Receptor (CAR) for its initiation. Many cells express only low amounts of CAR making limited adenovirus-mediated transduction. AdenoBlast is based on an adenovirus binding peptide that assists transduction by coupling the adenoviral particles to the cell membrane in a CAR independent manner. Therefore, adenoviral transduction is now possible even in non-permissive cells. 

Figure 1: Human prostate cancer cell line (PC-3) were transduced with an adenovirus serotype 5 encoding GFP at MOI 100 in presence or not of AdenoBlast (20 μL for MOI 200 and 10 μL for MOI 100). 72 h later, GFP expression was monitored by fluorescence microscopy.

Figure 2: Mixed culture of primary rat dorsal root ganglion (DRG) cells were transduced with an adenovirus expressing GFP marker driven by a CMV promoter in presence or not of 1μl and 3 μl of AdenoBlast.
