Buccal Swabs/DNA Extraction

The Isohelix Stabilizing Kit is an ideal adjunct to the T-Swab Buccal Swabs. It allows you to store buccal swab samples for extended periods at ambient temperature before extracting the DNA.

With the Isohelix Stabilizing Kit you can take a buccal swab sample with the Isohelix T-Swab or any other buccal swab, add 500μl of Reagent 1 and 20μl of Reagent 2 to the collection tube, and then you can keep the sample at ambient temperature for 2 years without any loss of stability. The DNA can then be extracted from the sample when required.

The kit is a perfect complement to the SK-2S T-Swabs which come with a 2ml collection tube and special release cap which separates the swab from the shaft and releases it into the 2ml collection tube.
