Simhelix DNA Quality Ready Kit

Designed specifically to confirm presence of and to test the quality of Human DNA by a quick PCR test prior to starting time consuming and costly research or testing. It can be used as a quality assurance test when using Isohelix T-Swabs and Simhelix Buccal Swab DNA Isolation Kit to obtain Human DNA samples. It can also be used to compare different DNA isolation methods and to detect the presence of PCR inhibitors.

The kit contains specially designed primers and PCR reaction reagents. You simply add the test DNA and run a PCR reaction, then interpret the results.

Expected band sizes are 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600bp. If all 6 fragments are observed then the DNA is not denatured. The 500bp fragnent is derived from an internal control and should always be present; absence of this band indicates failure of the PCR reaction.

1. 100bp ladder
2. Good Quality DNA - 6 bands present
3. Good Quality DNA - 6 bands present but lower yield
4. Good Quality DNA - 6 bands present
5. Poor Quality DNA - uneven amplification indicates partially degraded DNA
6. Good Quality DNA - 6 bands present
7. Poor Quality DNA - some bands missing
8. Good Quality DNA - 6 bands present
9. Negative Control - 500bp internal control shows PCR worked
