Allows fluorographic enhancement of low-energy isotopes in polyacrylamide and agarose gels

DESCRIPTION:

Enlight is a non-toxic aqueous solution that allows the fluorographic enhancement of low-energy isotopes in polyacrylamide and agarose gels. After electrophoresis, the gel is soaked in the Enlight solution for one hour. Then, the gel is dried as usual and exposed to an X-ray film at -70°C. Low-energy electrons that cannot leave the gel matrix are likely to interact with fluorographic molecules which are now incorporated in the gel and stimulate a light-emitting process. These photons can easily leave the gel to expose the film. The increased detection efficiency for 3H is at least 10,000 fold, for 14C, 35S and 33P at least 100-fold!

Enlight is stable at room temperature for at least 12 months.
